South African Sunday

Today was what a Sunday is meant to be. We puttered around and didn't do much. I spent some of the afternoon in the kitchen making Potjiekos and Melktert. mmmm......for those of you who don't know what that is you are missing out!! They are Traditional South African dishes....neither of which I have tried to make before. The Potjiekos is similar to an Ox Tail Stew and the Melktert is a yummy desert like a custard pie. I was down at the South African Shop yesterday so felt inspired today!! Unfortunately we ate it all before I even thought to take pictures but I think these dishes will be family fav's so will get some next time!!

We also spent some time downloading the video tape that we recorded in March during our South Africa trip. We haven't seen any of it until today so it was nice to go back through the memories shared there. I was also reminded how stinking hot it was!! ;)

Owen was having a blast this afternoon taking pictures with my camera. He only got one shot of me in before I took the memory card out (for safety reasons!!) He just loves using the Tri Pod. Here is his shot!! Nice one!! (can't be live I am posting this!! ....another one for you Theresa!! hehe)

After he took about 100 of me cleaning he asked me if I would take pictures of him.....I jumped at the chance!! Here is one of the shots I got.Much nicer to look at in my opinion ;)
